It is with great enthusiasm that owner Peggy Rust, introduces you to Snugglebugs. A place where shopping for Mom and playtime for kids comes together.
The concept for Snugglebugs began when Peggy found that she had trouble finding high quality children's clothing at a reasonable cost. Spending a fortune on brandname clothing that her children would outgrow before they were barely used didn't make much sense. On the other hand, cheaper clothing just didn't seem to wear or wash well. She thought there must be a better way.
So Peggy embarked on a mission to provide her and other mothers with that third option. Snugglebugs was created to provide Island mothers the opportunity to purchase high-end, brand name outlet apparel at a fraction of the price.
As the idea became a reality, she started to consider some other things. Being a mother of two pre-schoolers Peggy found that shopping with her kids could either be fairly uneventful or an absolute nightmare. "I love my kids but they aren't exactly great shoppers." she jokes.
She continues, "I think that mothers in this city need a place to go where they can be assured they are treasured and do not feel rushed or inconvenienced. We have designed a bright store with a large play area for small children with activities to keep their busy minds engaged. This allows mothers to shop casually while their little ones are happily playing. We also have a fully equipped bathroom for those little accidents that happen. Our staff appreciates what a mother goes through in the run of a day. "We have really tried to focus on the little things," says staff member Roxanne Gauthier.
She adds "Our store gives Island families great value. In addition to children's and maternity wear we carry fun and trendy items such as Squeaky Shoes, Bumbo Seats™, and Baby Slings that kids (and parents) just love."
Finally Peggy says "Our research shows that the average family will spend well over $5,000 on a child's wardrobe by the age of 10, and double that on toys, reading and entertainment. I think this is a significant investment that should be managed wisely and we hope to help families do just that."
